FAQs
-
What will happen during my appointment? We will spend time discussing your current symptoms, and what treatment/s you have already tried. It will involve an assessment of the joints/structures of the feet/ankles and I will assess your walking/running and movement to assess whether custom orthotics are appropriate to you. I will also examine your footwear to ensure it is appropriate for using orthotics and I can give advice on types/styles/brands to consider.
-
What should I bring to my appointment? Please bring shorts, or loose fitting trousers, to your appointment. Please also bring a selection of your footwear including sports shoes, and bring any existing orthotics/insoles that you currently use, or have tried in the past.
-
Can I bring a friend/relative with me?Yes, of course. Patients under 16yrs must bring a parent/guardian.
-
Can you update my GP?Yes, referral letters to your GP or other consultants are included in my assessment fee. Sometimes we need to refer patients back to orthopaedics for further assessment. You will receive a copy of any referral letters for your records.
-
What are your fees? Please use our online booking for further information on individual appointments. Orthotics range in price from £75 for off-the-shelf options, £190 (approx) for semi-custom options, £300-350 for fully custom options. All options will be discussed with you during your assessment appointment.
